This integration enables Orange Comet to help distribute Scottie Pippen’s Sneaker digital collection fairly and transparently, select winners to receive special-edition digital collectibles, real sneakers, the chance to meet with Scottie Pippen and more.
The Scottie Pippen digital collection is the first collaboration in Orange Comet’s Cørrupted Wear Collection, a fusion of fashion, culture, and celebrity. Scottie Pippen is one of the best forwards to play the game, winning 6 NBA Championships and 2 Olympic Gold Medals and making 7x All-Star appearances. The league named him one of the all-time greatest basketball players, and he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Now, Scottie Pippen is stepping into the metaverse with a dynamic, limited-edition Sneaker digital collection. These 3D animated digital collectibles are ready for holders’ avatars to wear in any compatible metaverse ecosystem and allow the holder to win an array of exciting prizes. In honor of Scottie’s jersey number, “33”, the fourth jersey ever to be retired by the Chicago Bulls, holders can win 33 autographed pairs of physical sneakers.

To establish a high-integrity digital collection, it’s essential that the winner selection process is fair and transparent and holders have an equal chance of receiving rewards. The problem with standard random number generators is that they are easily manipulated and need to provide users with definitive proof of the integrity of the process. In contrast, Chainlink VRF is both provably fair and verifiable.
Along with helping distribute Scottie Pippen Sneaker digital collectibles, Chainlink VRF will be used to help select holders receive various rewards, including:

Chainlink VRF works by combining block data that is still unknown when the request is made with the Oracle node’s pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The Scottie Pippen Sneaker digital collection smart contract will only accept the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This provides our users with automated and verifiable assurances directly on-chain that the distribution function and winner selection process are provably fair and were not tampered with by Oracle, outside entities, or the Orange Comet team.
